Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka has expressed his delight at returning to action for Serbian club Crvena Zvezda following a lengthy injury layoff that required surgery.
The 27-year-old striker made his comeback appearance in Crvena Zvezda's 3-1 victory over Mladost Lucani last weekend, coming on as a substitute for Pape Cherie Ndiaye in the 86th minute of the match.
Olayinka made an immediate impact upon his return, providing a superb assist for teammate Bruno Duarte's goal just before the 90-minute mark.
Celebrating his return to competitive football, the Nigerian international took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share his excitement with fans.
"My comeback is always stronger, I am delighted to be back," Olayinka wrote on his official account.
The forward had been sidelined for several weeks after undergoing surgery for an undisclosed injury. His return will be a significant boost for Crvena Zvezda as they continue their campaign in the Serbian league.
Olayinka, who previously played in the Czech League, has been an important player for the Serbian giants since joining the club, and his return to fitness comes as welcome news for both his club and Nigerian football fans.
