Shooting Stars technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, has provided his assessment of the team's performance in the recently concluded 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, where the Oluyole Warriors finished in eighth position.

The Ibadan-based club accumulated 54 points from 38 matches, falling short of securing a continental competition spot for the upcoming season despite a respectable campaign.

Speaking to Shooting Stars Media, Ogunbote acknowledged the mixed nature of their season, stating: "The season is not something we can just summarize, but be that as it may, we saw it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly."

The experienced tactician emphasized the need for a thorough review of the team's performance to identify areas for improvement. "All we need to do is to address our performance, see where we got it right and wrong, and make amends, in quote, the good, the bad, and the ugly," he added.

Shooting Stars' eighth-place finish represents a mid-table position in the 20-team NPFL, with the club showing moments of promise throughout the season but lacking the consistency needed to challenge for continental places.

The 2024/25 NPFL season concluded with several dramatic outcomes, including Heartland FC and Akwa United suffering relegation on the final day, while Nasarawa United's Anas Yusuf claimed the top scorer award.

Ogunbote's comments suggest a period of reflection and potential restructuring ahead for the Oluyole Warriors as they aim to build a stronger challenge for the 2025/26 campaign.
