Nasarawa United striker Anas Yusuf has clinched the prestigious top scorer award in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season with an impressive 18 goals.

The powerful forward finished five goals clear of his closest challenger, veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali of Kano Pillars, who netted 13 times during the campaign.

Yusuf's remarkable goal-scoring prowess helped the Solid Miners throughout the season, establishing him as one of the most lethal strikers in Nigeria's top-flight football competition.

The race for the golden boot also saw impressive performances from Ikorodu City's Shola Adelani and Sunday Megwo of Abia Warriors, who both registered 12 goals each. Ayomide Cole, also from Ikorodu City, completed the top five with 11 goals to his name.

Yusuf succeeds former Enyimba striker Chijioke Mbaoma, who claimed the top scorer award in the previous season.

The conclusion of the 2024/25 NPFL season also saw Heartland FC and Akwa United relegated on the final day, while other teams like Katsina United managed to secure their top-flight status despite a challenging campaign.

Yusuf's achievement adds his name to the illustrious list of NPFL top scorers and potentially positions him for future opportunities both domestically and internationally as he continues to develop his career.
