Katsina United midfielder Emmanuel Okoko has declared the team's readiness to fight for survival as they face Kwara United in a crucial Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture on Sunday.
The Chanji Boys host Kwara United at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in what is their final match of the season, with relegation looming if they fail to secure maximum points.
"We are 100% ready for Kwara United today, we will do everything possible to make our fans happy," Okoko told Nigerian Players Gallery. "Everybody is going home with tears of joy, relegation will never be our portion, our fans deserve everything from us."
The midfielder emphasized the critical nature of the encounter, describing it as a "do or die" affair for the Katsina-based club.
"It's a last dance at the Karkanda Stadium, Katsina; the match is a do or die, it's the hard way and the only way. We are going to the game with all our strength, we are Chanji Boys, we fear nobody," he added.
Katsina United, nicknamed the Chanji Boys, find themselves in a precarious position in the NPFL table, with only this final fixture remaining to determine their fate for next season.
A win against Kwara United would guarantee their survival in Nigeria's top flight, while any other result could see them relegated depending on other matches' outcomes.
The crucial relegation battle kicks off at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, also known as Karkanda Stadium, with Katsina United hoping home advantage will play a significant role in securing the vital three points needed for survival.
