The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) resit, the board announced on Sunday.
The announcement was made through JAMB's official X (formerly Twitter) account, bringing relief to approximately 379,000 candidates who participated in the rescheduled examination.
The resit examination was organized following widespread concerns over mass failures in the initial UTME. JAMB had earlier reported that over 1.5 million out of the 1.9 million candidates who sat for this year's examination scored below 200 marks out of a possible 400, prompting outcry from various stakeholders.
In response to the concerns, JAMB later acknowledged technical and human errors, particularly affecting candidates in Lagos and South-Eastern states, which significantly impacted performance outcomes.
How to Check Your UTME Resit Results
According to JAMB's announcement, candidates can check their results by sending "UTMERESULT" in capital letters to either 55019 or 66019, depending on which service was used to generate their profile code during registration.
"The 2025 UTME resit and underage UTME results have been released. To check the results, candidates are to send UTMERESULT in capital letter to either 55019 or 66019 depending on the one used to generate profile code during registration," the board stated.
The release of the resit results comes amid ongoing discussions about the examination body's processes. Recently, there have been reports of arrests of about 20 suspects over alleged hacking of UTME results, while some stakeholders, including the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), have called for reforms in JAMB's operations.
Additionally, the House of Representatives has indicated plans to probe the technical glitches that affected the 2025 UTME, as part of efforts to address concerns raised by affected candidates and their parents.
Candidates who participated in the resit examination are advised to follow the provided instructions to access their results promptly.
