Nigerian forward Gift Orban has reflected on his challenging first six months at Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim following his January transfer from French side Olympic Lyon.

The 22-year-old striker, who joined the German club in a €9 million deal earlier this year, has struggled to secure regular playing time since his arrival. Despite the difficulties, Orban has managed to score four goals in 13 league appearances for Hoffenheim.

Taking to social media platform X, Orban acknowledged the difficulties he has faced but expressed determination to overcome them. "It's been a rough season, no doubt. Things didn't go how I planned, but I've kept my head down and kept grinding," he wrote.

The Nigerian international added, "The season's almost over, and I'm focused on finishing strong and coming back better."

Orban's move to Hoffenheim marked a significant step in his European career after his stint at Olympic Lyon. The powerful striker has previously vowed to help Hoffenheim escape relegation, demonstrating his commitment to the club despite personal challenges.

As the Bundesliga season draws to a close, fans will be watching closely to see if Orban can finish on a high note and establish himself more firmly in the team ahead of the next campaign.
