Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has etched his name in Premier League history by becoming the first Nigerian player to appear in all 38 matchdays in two different seasons, following Fulham's 2-0 loss to Manchester City on Sunday.

The 29-year-old former Arsenal player first achieved this remarkable feat in the 2022/23 season and has now repeated it in the 2024/25 campaign, cementing his place in the record books.

Iwobi came off the bench in the 61st minute at Craven Cottage, replacing Harry Wilson in Fulham's final match of the season against the champions. This appearance marked his 38th in the current Premier League season.

The Nigerian international has enjoyed an impressive campaign, contributing significantly to Fulham's season with nine goals and six assists across all his appearances.

Iwobi joins an exclusive list of Nigerian players who have previously appeared in all 38 Premier League matchdays in a single season, including former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo (2006/07), Victor Moses (2011/12), and Wilfred Ndidi. However, he stands alone as the only Nigerian to achieve this milestone twice.

Despite Iwobi's personal achievement, Fulham were unable to secure a positive result against Manchester City, who continued their dominant form with a 2-0 victory at Craven Cottage.

This historic accomplishment highlights Iwobi's consistency, durability, and importance at the highest level of English football, further solidifying his status as one of Nigeria's most reliable performers in the Premier League.
