Chelsea legend Pat Nevin has predicted a victory for the Blues in their Premier League final day clash against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday evening.
Nuno Santo's Nottingham Forest currently sit in seventh position on the Premier League table, while Chelsea occupy fifth place heading into the season's final fixture.
Speaking about the upcoming encounter, Nevin expressed confidence in Enzo Maresca's side, suggesting that Chelsea's defensive performance against Nottingham's striker Chris Wood would be crucial to securing three points.
"You have to look at the centre of Chelsea's defence," Nevin told Metro UK. "If Chelsea can keep [Chris] Wood from scoring, I think Chelsea will win."
The former Chelsea star acknowledged the narrow margin between the two sides but still believes the London club has an edge. "They've more quality in the rest of the field, they're slightly better. But it is so slight – it is wafer thin between the two clubs," he added.
Chelsea enter the match with momentum after defeating Manchester United 1-0 in their previous fixture, which could provide a psychological boost as they look to end their season on a high note.
