American reality star and socialite Kim Kardashian has achieved a significant milestone in her legal journey by graduating from California's Law Office Study Programme, though without receiving a traditional law degree.

The 44-year-old fashion icon and entrepreneur completed her legal education through California's unique apprenticeship pathway known as "reading the law," which allows aspiring lawyers to learn under the guidance of practicing attorneys rather than enrolling in conventional law school.

Kardashian revealed that her journey took longer than anticipated, stretching to six years instead of the standard four due to COVID-19 disruptions and her demanding schedule. Despite these challenges, she expressed pride in her accomplishment.

"I chose a rigorous program registered with the California State Bar, building on 75 college credits to complete a four-year curriculum that stretched to six. The journey was real, and so is the accomplishment," Kardashian wrote on her Instagram page.

The California apprenticeship route that Kardashian pursued is one of the few remaining paths to legal practice in the United States that doesn't require attendance at an accredited law school. This alternative pathway has historical significance, as it was the primary method of legal education before the widespread establishment of law schools.

Kardashian's legal journey began several years ago when she advocated for criminal justice reform, most notably helping to secure clemency for Alice Marie Johnson, who had been serving a life sentence for a nonviolent drug offense.

While this graduation marks a significant step in her legal career, Kardashian will still need to pass the California Bar Exam to practice law in the state.
