Four persons have sustained gunshot injuries following separate attacks by suspected cultists and unknown gunmen in Benue State on Thursday, security sources confirmed.

The attacks, which occurred in Katsina-Ala and Logo Local Government Areas, have prompted increased security presence in the affected communities as authorities launch investigations to apprehend the perpetrators.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the first incident took place around 11:00 p.m. at the Head Bridge area of Katsina-Ala, where suspected cultists shot a man identified as Emmanuel in the shoulder. The victim was immediately rushed to Toro Hospital in Katsina-Ala for urgent medical attention.

Earlier on the same day, at approximately 5:30 p.m., another attack was reported along Tse Abi Road in Azege, Logo LGA. Unknown gunmen opened fire on a group of individuals from Ayilamo village, leaving three people wounded.

The victims of the Logo LGA attack were identified as Iorhemba Aondonengen, Amo Orseer, and Bem Sughter. All three sustained various degrees of gunshot wounds and are currently receiving treatment at the Primary Health Care Clinic in Ayilamo.

Security forces have been deployed to the affected areas, with investigations and manhunts ongoing to track down the fleeing assailants.

These incidents add to the growing security concerns in Benue State, which has witnessed several violent attacks in recent months. Local authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the latest incidents.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security outpost as efforts continue to restore peace and order in the affected communities.
