The Progressive Governors' Forum has formally endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election. The announcement was made by the Forum's Chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, during the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) National Summit in Abuja.

Governor Uzodimma charged APC governors to take responsibility for promoting federal government policies and securing their political territories ahead of the 2027 general elections.

"We acknowledge the resolution of these governors that the president should be used and adopted as our flag bearer for the 2027 presidential election for a second term," Uzodimma stated during the summit.

The Forum's chairman emphasized that APC governors must win all elections in their respective states to pave the way for Tinubu's re-election. "The governors produced by the APC are hereby charged to take responsibility for marketing all federal government policies and occupying all the political space in their domains, win all elections in their states come 2027," he added.

Uzodimma also acknowledged the endorsement already given to President Tinubu by Northern APC governors, further solidifying the party's unified stance on the president's candidacy for a second term.

"It is therefore my humble pleasure with total humility to the Almighty God to move that this August assembly adopt and concur the position of Progressives governors that Mr President carries our flag in 2027 and the governors take the responsibility for delivering this mandate, I so move," Uzodimma concluded.

This endorsement comes as the APC continues to strengthen its political structure ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the party also recently welcoming Timothy Adamu, the 2023 governorship candidate of Action Alliance in Kaduna, into its fold.
