Nigeria's Super Falcons will face Portugal in a high-profile friendly match scheduled for Monday, June 23, in Lisbon, Portugal, as part of their preparation for the upcoming 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The nine-time African champions, under the guidance of coach Justine Madugu, will also participate in a week-long training camp in Lisbon ahead of the continental tournament.

This international friendly adds to the team's preparation schedule, which already includes a double-header against Cameroon's Indomitable Lionesses later this month. These matches are set to take place at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on May 31 and at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena on June 3.

The intensive preparation comes as Nigeria prepares to compete in Group B of the WAFCON 2024 finals, where they will face Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana in their quest to secure a record-extending tenth continental title.

Coach Madugu has already unveiled his squad for the upcoming friendlies against Cameroon, signaling the team's readiness for the challenges ahead as they fine-tune their strategies before the continental showpiece.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed the venues for the home friendlies against Cameroon, with matches to be played in Ikenne and Abeokuta as part of the comprehensive preparation plan for the tournament.
