Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen will be in goal when the Blues face Real Betis in the UEFA Europa Conference League final next week.

The final showdown is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Stadion Miejski Stadium in Poland, with kickoff set for 8 p.m. Nigerian time.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the crucial match, Maresca explained his decision to start Jorgensen ahead of Robert Sanchez against Manuel Pellegrini's side.

"Filip [Jorgensen] is going to play in the final [of the Europa Conference League]," Maresca stated. "He's played all competition and it would be unfair to take him out [from the final] now."

The Chelsea boss added with a touch of humor: "It will be him plus ten Chelsea players, I am not sure who else will play."

Chelsea are currently sitting in 5th place in the Premier League table with 66 points from 37 games. The Blues will complete their domestic campaign against Nottingham Forest on the final day of the 2024/25 Premier League season before turning their attention to European glory.

This Conference League final represents an opportunity for Chelsea to secure European silverware under Maresca's guidance in his first season at Stamford Bridge.
