Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile has backed his club to win the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, describing it as an important trophy for the London side to secure.

The FIFA Club World Cup is scheduled to take place between June 14 and July 13, 2025, with Chelsea looking to repeat their success from the 2021 edition which they won under former manager Thomas Tuchel.

"It's important for the club to win this trophy because I think Chelsea are a big club and we have to win every trophy that we can," Badiashile told Hayters in a recent interview.

The French defender has been a key figure for Chelsea in their UEFA Europa Conference League campaign this season, making 10 appearances as the Blues prepare to face Real Betis in the final on Thursday.

Badiashile has impressed with his defensive capabilities, recording an impressive 80% tackle success rate and winning 78.6% of his aerial duels throughout the competition.

Despite his confidence in the club's prospects, the Frenchman expressed uncertainty about his own future at Chelsea, indicating he doesn't know whether he would return to the club after the Club World Cup.

Chelsea will be looking to add another international trophy to their cabinet, having previously claimed the FIFA Club World Cup in 2021 when they defeated Brazilian side Palmeiras under Tuchel's management.
