Wikki Tourists and Barau FC have secured their spots in the prestigious Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Eight playoff tournament, following impressive performances in the Northern Conference C of the 2024/25 season.

The Bauchi Elephants, Wikki Tourists, sealed their qualification in emphatic fashion with a commanding 4-1 victory over Zamfara United at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi in their final match of the regular season.

Meanwhile, Barau FC secured their own qualification with a tactical goalless draw against Mighty Jets in Jos, demonstrating resilience away from home when it mattered most.

Wikki Tourists finished at the summit of the Northern Conference C with 23 points, while Barau FC claimed the second position with 19 points from 12 matches.

Following their qualification, Abdullahi Maikaba's Wikki Tourists expressed gratitude to their supporters for their unwavering backing throughout the campaign.

"We are delighted to confirm our qualification for the 2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 Promotional Play-Offs after finishing top of the Northern Conference C with 23 points. Our victory over Zamfara United in the final home match sealed our position at the summit of the table," the club stated after their decisive victory.

"We thank our fans, players, technical crew, and management for their unwavering support throughout the season. We now shift our focus to the Super 8 as we continue our push for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League."

With these qualifications, Wikki Tourists and Barau FC join Yobe Desert Stars and Doma United as the four teams that have secured their places in the playoff tournament from the Northern Conference.

The remaining four teams to complete the Super Eight lineup will emerge from the Southern Conference A and B in the coming days.

The Super Eight playoff tournament serves as the final hurdle for these clubs in their quest for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), the country's top-flight football division.
