Nigeria's Flying Eagles captain Daniel Bameyi has earned a prestigious spot in the Team of the Tournament for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations held in Egypt.

The 19-year-old defender, who featured prominently in all six matches played by the Nigerian team throughout the tournament, contributed one goal to his team's campaign. This recognition comes after Bameyi was also named in the Team of the Group Stage earlier in the competition.

Champions South Africa and runners-up Morocco dominated the prestigious selection, with each nation having four players represented in the final list. South Africa's impressive performance was further acknowledged as their coach, Raymond Mdaka, received the Coach of the Tournament honors.

Other notable inclusions in the Team of the Tournament were Sierra Leone's Momoh Kamara, who finished as the tournament's top scorer with four goals, and Egypt's Mohamed Goweily, who represented the host nation.

The Flying Eagles concluded their tournament campaign by securing third place after defeating hosts Egypt in the third-place playoff match.
