UK-based Ugandan model Eva Apio has publicly addressed rumors about her relationship with Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake, categorically stating that they were never romantically involved.

The clarification came on Sunday when Apio responded to a social media post on X (formerly Twitter) that referred to her as "Asake's girlfriend." The post had shared one of their viral photos together with the caption, "Asake and his Girlfriend (Eva Apio)."

In a direct response that has since garnered attention across social media platforms, Apio wrote, "I was never his girlfriend."

Speculation about a romantic relationship between the model and the Nigerian singer had been circulating for some time after they were spotted making multiple public appearances together and attending various events as a pair.

This development comes amid other news surrounding Asake, including recent reports about his departure from YBNL record label and the establishment of his own music imprint. The singer has also been in the news regarding family matters, including allegations from his father about neglect and a reconciliation with his 11-year-old daughter.
