Spanish Liga F club Atletico Madrid has officially announced that Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade will depart the club at the end of the current season as her contract expires this summer.

The 25-year-old Nigerian international will leave alongside three other players - Marta Cardona, Ainhoa Moraza, and Merle Berth - after both parties agreed to part ways.

"Our players Cardona, Ajibade, Moraza, and Barth will not continue as Red and White next season and will bid farewell to the fans on Sunday at Alcalá," the club stated in an official announcement on their social media platform.

Ajibade joined Atletico Madrid in 2021 from Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) club Robo Queens and has since established herself as a key player for the Spanish side. During her four-year stint with Atletico, she made 138 appearances and found the back of the net 40 times.

The Super Falcons captain's time at the Madrid-based club was marked by significant success, helping the team secure two major trophies - the Supercopa de España in 2021 and the Copa de la Reina in 2023.

As one of Nigeria's most prominent footballers in Europe, Ajibade's departure from Atletico Madrid will likely spark speculation about her next career move, with several top European clubs potentially interested in securing her services.

The forward will have an opportunity to bid farewell to Atletico Madrid fans during Sunday's match at Alcalá, marking the end of a successful chapter in her professional career.
