The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has called on Nigeria's service chiefs to resign their appointments if they cannot effectively address the country's growing insecurity challenges.

In a statement released by his media office, Primate Ayodele emphasized that Nigeria urgently needs "very active service chiefs" to overcome its security challenges, particularly following recent attacks on military personnel.

"If they begin to kill soldiers, it means the Chief of Army Staff isn't active. He should go and relax and allow an active person to take over. Even the CDS, too, he isn't active," Ayodele stated.

The cleric's comments come in the wake of a deadly attack by Boko Haram terrorists on a Forward Operation Base of the 153 Task Force Battalion in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State. The attack, which occurred around 3:00 am on Monday, reportedly resulted in soldiers being captured and dislodged from their positions.

Primate Ayodele warned President Bola Tinubu to be more proactive in addressing insecurity, suggesting that the situation could be exploited to weaken the president's potential second term bid.

"Tinubu should know that they want to use this insecurity to weaken his second term, and there are people behind it. It's a very serious thing that should be quickly worked on to avoid more issues," he cautioned.

The religious leader also warned of potential states of emergency in several states due to insecurity, including Benue, Abuja, Ondo, Adamawa, Kogi, Yobe, Plateau, and Bauchi. He suggested that the security situation could become so dire that "soldiers and police will be kidnapped and shamefully killed by these insurgents" if decisive action is not taken.

Ayodele advised President Tinubu to convene a meeting with key stakeholders including service chiefs, retired generals, spiritual leaders, politicians, and local hunters to develop a comprehensive approach to combat insecurity.

"Tinubu should call his service chiefs, retired generals, spiritual leaders, politicians, and local hunters to assist in this fight against insecurity for Nigeria and his own good as the president," he concluded.
