Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has categorically denied reports suggesting that President Bola Tinubu invited him to rejoin the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former Kano State governor also refuted claims that he stated he would rather leave politics than return to the APC. In a statement posted on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday, Kwankwaso dismissed these reports as fabrications.

"My attention has been drawn to a statement purportedly stating my position on the recurring political realignments in Nigeria," Kwankwaso stated. "I wish to categorically state that such statements are false, unfounded, and products of political mischief."

The NNPP leader further clarified his position on recent political developments, saying: "I have refrained from commenting on contemporary political events and I will continue to do so for the time being."

Kwankwaso urged the public to be vigilant about the sources of information attributed to him. "In this regard, I urge the public to only engage statements that come from my public handles and other official sources," he emphasized.

The clarification comes amid ongoing speculation about potential political realignments in Nigeria's political landscape ahead of future elections. Kwankwaso, who was a presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections under the NNPP platform, has remained a significant figure in Nigerian politics, particularly in the northern region.

Political analysts suggest that rumors of high-profile defections and realignments have intensified as parties begin positioning themselves for upcoming electoral contests, though Kwankwaso appears determined to distance himself from such speculation for now.
