Flutterwave, Africa's leading payments technology company, has once again secured a position on FXC Intelligence's prestigious Top 100 Cross-Border Payment Companies list for the second consecutive year, cementing its status as a global player in the financial technology sector.

The recognition places Flutterwave alongside international giants such as PayPal, Google, and Shopify as leading forces in the cross-border payments and remittance space. FXC Intelligence's annual list, now in its sixth year, serves as a comprehensive market map highlighting the 100 most influential players transforming global payment systems.

Responding to this achievement, Yewande Akomolafe-Kalu, Associate Vice President of Branding and Storytelling at Flutterwave, stated: "Being consistently recognized alongside innovation powerhouses like Google and Apple on this esteemed list truly reflects Flutterwave's deep commitment to excellence."

"Our cross-border solutions were designed with our vision to connect Africa to the world and vice versa. This acknowledgement affirms our vision and fuels our unwavering commitment to delivering world-class payment services and infrastructure, building a better Africa now and in the future," she added.

Expanding Cross-Border Capabilities

Through its flagship product, Send App, Flutterwave has remained committed to its mission of connecting Africa to the global economy through seamless payment solutions. The company has recognized remittances as a critical lifeline for many Africans, facilitating easy access to cross-border payments for essential needs including tuition fees and medical bills.

2024 marked significant growth for Flutterwave's cross-border capabilities, with nearly 50% of businesses on its platform receiving payments from new geographic locations. This expansion spans multiple sectors including remittance, hospitality, and travel, enabling frictionless transactions across international boundaries.

To strengthen its cross-border payment infrastructure, Flutterwave acquired a remittance license in Ghana, extending the reach of its solutions to Ghanaian users. On the technical front, the company has achieved remarkable efficiency, processing over 98% of cross-border transactions in under five minutes.

Contributing to Africa's Fintech Ecosystem

Beyond facilitating payments, Flutterwave has made substantial contributions to developing Africa's fintech landscape. The company now operates in over 60% of African countries and has established strategic partnerships with global payment leaders such as American Express (AMEX).

Recently, Flutterwave launched a Pay With Bank Transfer option for Ghanaian businesses, further enhancing payment flexibility in the region. This latest recognition follows several prestigious accolades, including Fast Company's "Most Innovative Company for Europe, Middle East, and Africa" in 2024, the "Financial Services Infrastructure Innovation Award" at the International Financial Inclusion Conference, and the "Cross Border Payments" award at the 2025 Africa Tech Summit.

Flutterwave's inclusion in the FXC Top 100 list underscores its ongoing success and dedication to providing robust payment infrastructure that enables businesses to operate and expand seamlessly across Africa and globally.
