Remo Stars FC held a grand victory parade in Ikenne on Friday to celebrate their historic triumph as champions of the 2024/25 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The Sky Blue Stars, who clinched their maiden NPFL title last month following a 1-0 victory over Katsina United, paraded their trophy through Sagamu and Remo North before culminating the celebration in their home base of Ikenne.
The achievement marks a significant milestone for the Ogun State-based club, as they have become the first team from Nigeria's South-West region to win the prestigious league title in over two decades. The last South-Western club to accomplish this feat was the now-defunct Julius Berger FC in 2000.
Coach Daniel Ogunmodede's side traveled through the streets in a decoratively adorned open-top bus, creating a festive atmosphere that allowed players to connect with fans and supporters who lined the streets to celebrate their historic achievement.
The title parade highlighted not only Remo Stars' sporting excellence but also their growing influence in Nigerian football, having risen through the ranks to claim the country's most coveted club football prize.
This championship victory ensures Remo Stars will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League next season, bringing continental football to Ikenne and further elevating the profile of the ambitious club.
