The Nigeria National League (NNL) has pledged to uphold the highest standards of integrity as the season approaches its final round of matches, with promotion spots to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) at stake.
NNL Chairman George Aluo emphasized that only the most deserving teams will advance to the Super Eight playoff tournament, where four clubs will ultimately secure promotion to Nigeria's top-flight football division.
"We have maintained a high level of integrity since we came on board, and we are very determined to reposition the league, which is very evident in the performance of the teams we promoted last season to the NPFL," Aluo stated in comments released by NNL media.
The chairman further assured stakeholders that the league body would continue its efforts to align operations with international best practices, refusing to bow to external pressures or influences that might compromise the promotion process.
"We would continue to do our best to ensure that same is replicated this season," he added, referring to the success of previously promoted teams.
The 2025 Super Eight playoff tournament will determine which four clubs join the NPFL for the upcoming season, with teams currently battling to secure their spots in the final round of regular season matches.
This announcement comes as several NNL clubs, including Wikki Tourists and Mighty Jets, prepare for crucial fixtures that could determine their playoff eligibility.
