Manchester United legend Gary Neville has outlined three key signings Arsenal need to make in the upcoming summer transfer window following another season without silverware.

The Gunners, who have not secured a major trophy since winning the FA Cup in 2020 and last lifted the Premier League title in 2004, are currently fighting to finish second in the league after falling short to Liverpool in this season's title race.

This marks the third consecutive season where Mikel Arteta's side has come close but failed to win the Premier League, having narrowly missed out to Manchester City in both 2023 and 2024.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville identified the specific positions Arsenal need to strengthen: "I'm glad that on Friday in his press conference [Arteta] said [they'd] gone backwards in the Premier League," Neville said.

"They have got to deal with that – [Thomas] Partey's not great at that, Declan Rice was proven in the first leg against PSG that he is not great at it, he is better going forwards."

The former Manchester United defender was clear about Arsenal's transfer priorities: "So those two key positions, they need two forwards and they need another midfield player."

Neville also highlighted Arsenal's long-standing issue in the striker position, noting: "But the forward part of it – they have signed one striker in seven seasons as a football club."

With the summer transfer window approaching, Arsenal fans will be eager to see if Arteta and the club's management address these areas of concern as they look to end their trophy drought and mount a more successful challenge for the Premier League title next season.
