Nigerian business magnate and founder of Coscharis Group, Cosmas Maduka, has sparked debate with his recent assertion that men should own houses by age 30, while revealing he made his first $2 million at just 24 years old.
Speaking on the Selam Meditate podcast, Maduka claimed that 86 percent of the world's successful individuals achieved their success between the ages of 12 and 28, adding that those who haven't attained success by 30 have likely "missed it."
"I made my first 2 million dollars at the age of 24. Eighty-six percent of successful people on the face of this earth all became successful between the ages of 12 and 28. If you don't get it by 30, you already missed it," Maduka stated during the interview.
The entrepreneur, known for building one of Nigeria's most successful conglomerates, further emphasized his belief that homeownership should be a priority for young men, dismissing the idea of merely renting apartments by age 30.
"Any young man that knows what to do by 30 years shouldn't just be talking about living in three-bedroom apartments. He should own his house," he declared, adding that even in the current generation, he can point to 30-year-olds who are constructing their own homes.
Maduka's comments come at a time when Nigeria faces significant housing challenges, with many young professionals struggling to afford homes amid rising property costs and economic pressures.
The Coscharis Group, which Maduka founded, has grown into a diversified business with interests spanning automotive, technology, foods, and other sectors, making him one of Nigeria's most respected business leaders.
His perspective has generated mixed reactions on social media, with some praising his ambition while others questioning the feasibility of such milestones in today's economic climate.
