Former Aston Villa captain Gabby Agbonlahor has advised Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap to reject a potential move to Manchester United this summer transfer window.
Delap, who has scored 12 goals for Ipswich Town this season, has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea, West Ham, Aston Villa, Everton, and Arsenal.
Following Ipswich Town's relegation from the Premier League to the Championship, the 22-year-old striker now has a £30 million release clause in his contract that could be triggered by interested clubs.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor specifically recommended West Ham United as the ideal destination for Delap to continue his development.
"If I were him I would not be going there [United] at the moment. I would not stay at Ipswich," Agbonlahor said.
"I'd go to a West Ham, go and prove yourself at West Ham, the next step. They need a striker, Ferguson will go back to Brighton, that has not worked out. They are desperate for a striker."
Agbonlahor's advice comes at a time when several top clubs are looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season, with Delap emerging as a promising target after his impressive goal-scoring record despite Ipswich's relegation.
The young striker's future remains uncertain, but with multiple Premier League clubs expressing interest, he appears unlikely to remain in the Championship with Ipswich Town next season.
