Foreign-based professional players have begun arriving at the Flying Eagles camp as Nigeria intensifies preparation for the upcoming 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Coach Aliyu Zubairu's squad established their training base in Abuja earlier this month for the second phase of their World Cup preparation, BenriNews reports.

Following the team's underwhelming performance at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations held in Egypt earlier this year, Zubairu has extended invitations to several overseas-based talents to strengthen the squad.

Among the foreign professionals expected to join the camp this week are Wilfred George, Christian Nwachukwu, Divine Onyemaechi, and Jonathan Spiff Asuzu.

The Nigerian U-20 team is scheduled to travel abroad next month for the final phase of their training regimen before the tournament kicks off.

In the tournament draw, the Flying Eagles have been placed in Group F alongside Colombia, Norway, and Saudi Arabia. The competition will run from September 27 to October 19, 2025.

The inclusion of foreign-based professionals represents a strategic move to bolster the team's chances at the global tournament following their disappointing continental campaign.
