Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke has returned to full training with Sevilla, boosting the team's options ahead of their LaLiga season opener against Athletic Bilbao this weekend.

The 27-year-old had been sidelined with a thigh injury sustained during training last month, raising concerns about his availability for the start of the 2025/2026 campaign.

According to reports from Spain, Ejuke rejoined his teammates for full training on Wednesday, putting him in contention for Sevilla's trip to San Mames on Sunday.

This recovery comes as welcome news for both the player and the club, as Ejuke has struggled with fitness issues since joining Sevilla on a free transfer last summer. The former CSKA Moscow star missed nearly four months of the previous season due to a persistent hamstring problem.

Despite his injury challenges, Ejuke managed to contribute two goals and one assist in 25 league appearances for the Rojiblancos during the 2024/2025 season.

The pacy winger will be hoping to stay fit and make a stronger impact in his second season with Sevilla, who are looking to improve their LaLiga standing under manager Quique Sánchez Flores.

Ejuke's return provides Sevilla with additional attacking options as they prepare to face a traditionally tough Athletic Bilbao side that finished in the European places last season.
