The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force's commitment to protecting lives and property in Kebbi State during a recent operational assessment visit to the region.

During his visit, Air Marshal Abubakar conducted high-level meetings with senior military commanders, security agency heads, and Kebbi State Governor Mohammed Nasir Idris to assess and strengthen security operations in the North-West region.

According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force, the Chief of Air Staff's visit included comprehensive inspections of key military infrastructure across the state.

Highlighting Kebbi's strategic importance, Air Marshal Abubakar noted the state's unique position sharing borders with the Republics of Benin and Niger, along with its extensive rural terrain that necessitates enhanced security vigilance.

"What affects Kebbi affects the entire North-West, and by extension, the peace and stability of our nation. Our commitment is clear: we will locate and root out all criminal elements threatening the peace and safety of law-abiding citizens. Nigeria must be secure for development to thrive," the Air Chief stated.

Governor Idris expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies in maintaining relative peace in the state despite emerging regional threats. He pledged continued government support for security operations throughout Kebbi.

The visit underscores the Nigerian Air Force's proactive approach to addressing security challenges in Nigeria's border regions, particularly as concerns about cross-border criminal activities continue to rise.

Military analysts suggest this renewed focus on Kebbi State may signal broader strategic shifts in security operations across Nigeria's northwestern corridor, which has faced various security challenges in recent years.
