Only two Nigerian football clubs have secured positions in the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) prestigious list of top 50 best teams in Africa for 2025.
BenriNews reports that Rivers United and Enyimba FC are the sole Nigerian representatives in the continental rankings released on Friday.
Egyptian giants Al Ahly currently dominate the CAF clubs' rankings, occupying the number one position with an impressive 78 points, significantly ahead of their closest competitors.
South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns secured the second position with 62 points, while Tunisia's Espérance completed the top three with 57 points.
Nigerian Clubs' Standings
Rivers United ranks 19th on the list with 14 points, sharing the position with Egypt's Al Masry. Meanwhile, Enyimba FC sits in the 27th position with 7 points, alongside Senegal's Jaraaf and Cameroon's Coton Sport.
The rankings highlight the continued dominance of North African clubs, with Egyptian teams securing three positions in the top 10, including Al Ahly (1st), Pyramids FC (6th), and Zamalek SC (7th).
