The Plateau State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the suspected murder of a 29-year-old student of the University of Jos (UNIJOS). The victim, identified as Daniel Umar Izang, was found dead at Rusau Village Hostel on August 2, 2025.
According to security reports, friends of the deceased rushed him to Asibiti Clinic, located opposite the University of Jos permanent site, where doctors confirmed him dead upon arrival.
The Chief Security Officer of the university, Mr. Agama Tangur, reported the incident to police authorities on August 4. Preliminary investigations revealed signs of violence on the victim's body, suggesting foul play in the circumstances surrounding his death.
Following a swift investigation at the hostel premises, security officers apprehended two suspects: 25-year-old Moses Joel and Naanmang Kadaura. The authorities have not yet disclosed the relationship between the suspects and the victim or potential motives for the alleged crime.
The victim's body has been transferred to the Plateau Specialists Hospital morgue for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, while investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
