The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has officially announced the venues for the 2024-25 U-19 Youth League, dividing participating teams into three geographical zones across the country.

According to the league body, the competition will be hosted in three strategic locations: Ikenne, Umuahia, and Kano, with matches scheduled to begin in early August.

The Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne will serve as the venue for the first group of matches featuring Shooting Stars, Ikorodu City, Sunshine Stars, Kwara United, and Bendel Insurance. These fixtures are scheduled to run from Monday, August 4, to Saturday, August 9.

For the second zone, Kano has been selected to host matches involving Kano Pillars, El-Kanemi Warriors, Katsina United, Nasarawa United, Niger Tornadoes, and Plateau United. The Kano fixtures will take place from August 10 to 16.

The third zone will be based in Umuahia, featuring eight clubs: Abia Warriors, Akwa United, Enyimba, Rangers, Heartland, Bayelsa United, Rivers United, and Lobi Stars.

According to the competition format, the top two teams from each zone will advance to the final playoff stage, creating a top-six finals tournament to determine the ultimate champion of the 2024-25 season.

The U-19 Youth League represents an important development pathway for young Nigerian footballers, providing them with competitive experience and visibility at the national level while serving as a talent pipeline for senior NPFL teams.

This zonal approach aims to reduce travel costs for participating clubs while ensuring competitive matches across different regions of the country.
