The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, has extended commendations to security forces for their bravery and dedication in protecting communities in Rijau Local Government Area following recent bandit attacks.

Sarkin-Daji led a delegation on a condolence visit to Rijau on behalf of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago after bandits attacked the area, resulting in loss of lives and property damage.

During the visit, the Speaker highlighted that the swift intervention of military and government forces led to the neutralization of several bandits and recovery of stolen cattle.

"The commendation is a recognition of the bravery and dedication of the security forces, who risked their lives to protect the citizens and restore peace to the communities," Sarkin-Daji stated.

He added, "The people of Rijau appreciate the efforts of the security forces and are grateful for their bravery and sacrifice."

On behalf of Governor Bago, the Speaker delivered financial support of N500,000 to each affected family and N2 million to families of the deceased. This gesture, according to him, demonstrates the government's commitment to supporting affected communities and providing relief to victims.

"On behalf of Governor Mohammed Bago, we condole with the affected communities. Our coming is to show government's sincere and deep sense of sorrow and regret over the tragic incident," he emphasized.

The people of Rijau reportedly expressed appreciation for the government's support and solidarity during this difficult time.
