Nurudeen Aweroro is set to be appointed as the new head coach of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club Shooting Stars, BenriNews can confirm.

Aweroro will be leaving his position at Ikorodu City to take up the role following the dismissal of Gbenga Ogunbote by the new Shooting Stars' management earlier this week.

The young tactician made a significant impact at Ikorodu City last season, guiding the team to an impressive fourth-place finish in their maiden NPFL campaign. He took charge of the Oga Boys midway through the season after Bright Ozebagbe was relieved of his duties.

According to sources close to the club, Aweroro's assistants have already begun work at Shooting Stars, indicating that the transition is well underway.

The official unveiling of the new coach is scheduled to take place on Friday at the club's secretariat in Jericho, Ibadan, where he will be formally introduced to the media and supporters.

This appointment comes at a crucial time for the Oluyole Warriors as they look to improve their performance in the upcoming NPFL season under new management.

Aweroro's appointment represents a significant shift in the club's coaching strategy, bringing in a younger coach with fresh tactical ideas who has already demonstrated his ability to achieve results in Nigeria's top flight.
