Former Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye has publicly called out Enyimba FC over unpaid match bonuses from the previous season, highlighting ongoing financial issues within the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Ideye, who currently plays for the Aba-based club, took to social media platform X to express his frustration about the delayed payments, emphasizing that the season concluded in May, yet players are still awaiting their bonuses.

"Because I get money, I should not ask for the one I worked for? Please pay me and the players last season's match bonuses. @EnyimbaFC, the season ended in May, till now nothing. Next season will start next month," Ideye wrote in his post.

This complaint follows another recent revelation by the striker, who claimed that Enyimba paid its players just ₦7,000 per day for meals during the 2024/2025 campaign. The former NPFL champions have yet to respond to either allegation.

Ideye's public criticism comes at a critical time as the new NPFL season is scheduled to begin next month, raising questions about player welfare and financial management within one of Nigeria's most successful football clubs.

The situation highlights broader concerns about player compensation in Nigerian football, where delayed payments and financial disputes have become increasingly common despite the professional status of the league.

Enyimba FC, known as the People's Elephant, has won multiple NPFL titles and continental trophies, making this public dispute particularly significant for Nigerian football.
