The Nigerian Government has reopened the recruitment portal for four paramilitary agencies under the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) following a temporary suspension due to technical issues.

According to a statement released on Monday, the portal will be accessible to applicants from July 21, 2025. The CDCFIB explained that the suspension was necessary to upgrade the portal to manage the high volume of applications and ensure a seamless, transparent, and equitable recruitment process.

"We sincerely apologize for the interruption in the application submission process. Due to the high volume of applications, it was necessary to enhance the system," the Board stated.

The Board has advised applicants who had already begun the process to return to the portal and complete their applications. The CDCFIB also addressed complaints about missing local government areas in the selection menu, assuring applicants that the issue is being resolved and updates will be made to the portal.

In its statement, the Board reaffirmed its commitment to a merit-based recruitment process and appreciated the interest of Nigerians in joining the country's security and emergency services.

This reopening comes at a time when Nigeria is strengthening its security apparatus across various sectors. Recently, an Immigration officer who arrested a notorious ritualist in Enugu was rewarded with N5 million for his dedication to duty, highlighting the importance of these services in maintaining national security.

The Nigerian government has also been taking steps to regulate immigration, with a recent directive giving foreigners with expired visas three months to leave the country.
