President Tinubu Pays Tribute
In a heartfelt tribute released on Sunday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu described the late Awujale as "one of Nigeria's most revered traditional rulers who served his people with dignity and a deep sense of duty for over 65 years."
The President emphasized that Oba Adetona's leadership brought significant progress and unity to Ijebuland and the nation at large. He further noted that the monarch was consistently a voice of reason during times of crisis.
"The late Awujale was a wise and honest leader whose legacy in education and governance will never be forgotten," President Tinubu stated in his tribute.
The passing of Oba Adetona marks the end of one of the longest-reigning traditional rulers in Nigeria's history, having ascended the throne over six decades ago.
