Chelsea forward Joao Pedro has labeled Paris Saint-Germain players as "bad losers" following a heated confrontation that erupted after Chelsea's commanding 3-0 victory in the FIFA Club World Cup final on Sunday night.
The match, held at MetLife Stadium, saw Chelsea claim the prestigious trophy with goals from Cole Palmer and Pedro himself. However, the celebration was marred by an on-pitch altercation after the final whistle.
"They're bad losers," Pedro stated firmly in his post-match comments. "I went to defend my teammate. I was pushed and fell down to the ground."
The incident reportedly involved PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, with PSG manager Luis Enrique also becoming entangled in the brawl. Footage appears to show Enrique striking Pedro, causing the former Brighton player to fall to the ground.
This victory marks a significant achievement for Chelsea, who will now have the privilege of wearing the gold FIFA Club World Cup champions badge on their jerseys for the next four years.
When asked about the incident in his post-match press conference, Enrique reportedly responded, "I'm not a loser," though he did not directly address the alleged physical confrontation with Pedro.
Chelsea legend Didier Drogba was among those who congratulated the team on their impressive victory, which has established them as world champions at the club level.
The Blues dominated the match from start to finish, with their clinical finishing and solid defensive performance proving too much for the French champions to handle.
