Evans Ogbonda has committed his future to former Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Rangers International FC by signing a new two-year contract extension.
The 22-year-old midfielder, who joined the Flying Antelopes from Bendel Insurance in 2024, has quickly established himself as a regular starter in Fidelis Ilechukwu's squad during the previous campaign.
Ogbonda's contract renewal is expected to significantly bolster Rangers' performance as they prepare for the upcoming 2025/26 NPFL season, which is scheduled to kick off on Friday, August 22.
This signing follows another recent acquisition by the Enugu-based club, with Oloruntoba also securing a two-year deal with the Flying Antelopes as part of their squad strengthening strategy.
Sources close to the club indicate that Rangers are expected to announce more quality signings before the new season commences, as they aim to reclaim their championship status in Nigerian football.
The contract extension demonstrates Rangers' commitment to building a competitive squad while recognizing Ogbonda's contributions since his arrival from Bendel Insurance.
Meanwhile, other NPFL clubs are also making significant moves in the transfer market. Kano Pillars recently appointed Ahmed Musa with promises to reposition the club, while Enyimba has begun contract extension talks with Atule. In contrast, Plateau United has parted ways with several players including Itodo, Ambrose, and Henlong.
