Newly appointed Shooting Stars chairman, Taiwo Salami, has promised to reposition the Oyo State-owned club following his appointment by the state government on Monday.

Salami, who takes over from Babatunde Akoro after his one-year tenure, wasted no time in getting to work as he visited the club's Jericho office on Tuesday to meet with management team members and assess the current state of affairs.

During his inaugural visit, the business mogul expressed his commitment to implementing significant changes at the club. "I am delighted to be here and I want to assure you that there will be massive changes, both within the office and on the field," he stated.

The appointment comes after Shooting Stars finished in ninth position in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) last season, a performance that fell short of expectations for the historic club.

Salami's appointment is seen as part of broader efforts by the Oyo State Government to restore the club to its former glory days. The new chairman's business background is expected to bring fresh perspectives to the management of the team.

Football analysts believe that with proper restructuring and investment, Shooting Stars could once again become a formidable force in Nigerian football, reclaiming its position as one of the country's most successful clubs.
