Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe, has officially withdrawn his complaints against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) regarding alleged harassment and attempted extortion, according to reports on Monday.
Despite dropping these serious allegations, the French international is still pursuing his appeal for €55 million that he claims PSG owes him from his time at the club, as reported by L'Equipe.
Mbappe had previously filed a lawsuit against the French champions, accusing them of attempted extortion and trying to coerce him into signing a new contract in 2023 by excluding him from training with the first-team squad.
The 26-year-old's initial complaint, filed on May 16, targeted PSG's handling of his situation during the summer of 2023 when he was notably excluded from the club's first team. This led to a formal judicial investigation with two investigating magistrates assigned to the case.
The star forward eventually left the Parisian club as a free agent to join Real Madrid last year, where he has since made an impressive start to his career with the Spanish giants.
Mbappe's decision to withdraw the harassment and extortion complaints marks a significant development in what has been a contentious separation from PSG, though his pursuit of the substantial financial claim indicates that not all issues have been resolved between the player and his former club.
The French superstar's move to Real Madrid came after years of speculation about his future, with the Spanish club having long pursued his signature. Since joining Los Blancos, Mbappe has continued to demonstrate the world-class talent that made him one of football's most coveted players.
