Nigerian international striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly informed his Galatasaray teammates that he intends to move to Saudi Arabia this summer, according to club insider Yakup Çımar.
The Napoli forward, who is currently on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray, is at the center of intense transfer speculation with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal and several European clubs vying for his signature.
Speaking on the Yeni Açık YouTube channel, Çımar revealed: "This is private information. When Osimhen was leaving Türkiye, he told his Galatasaray teammates that he was going to Saudi Arabia. He may have changed his mind."
Multiple Clubs in Race for Osimhen
While Al-Hilal appears to be leading the race with what sources describe as a "record-breaking deal," Galatasaray has reportedly tabled "the most lucrative bid from Europe" in hopes of securing the Nigerian striker on a permanent basis.
There have also been links to several Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United, as well as Italian giants Juventus. However, Galatasaray and Al-Hilal are believed to be the frontrunners at this stage.
Osimhen's current contract with Napoli includes a €75 million release clause, which any interested club would need to meet to secure his services permanently.
Galatasaray Growing Impatient
The Turkish club appears to be growing restless with the prolonged transfer saga. Reports suggest Galatasaray has issued an ultimatum to the Nigerian striker, urging him to make a decision soon as "time is running out."
Despite Osimhen's apparent indication to teammates about his Saudi Arabia preference, the striker has yet to make any official announcement regarding his future. He recently traveled to Nigeria, which has further delayed any formal decision.
The 25-year-old forward rose to prominence during Napoli's Serie A title-winning campaign in the 2022/23 season, establishing himself as one of the most sought-after strikers in world football.
BenriNews will continue to monitor this developing transfer story as Osimhen weighs up what could be a career-defining move this summer.
