Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been officially charged by the Football Association (FA) with doping offences and now faces a potential four-year ban from the sport.

The Ukrainian international has not featured for the London club since December 2024, when he was provisionally suspended following a positive drugs test.

Official FA Statement

"We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with Anti-Doping Rule Violations alleging the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance, in terms of Regulations 3 and 4 of The FA's Anti-Doping Regulations," an FA spokesperson stated.

"As this is an ongoing case, we are not in a position to comment further at this time," the spokesperson added.

According to reports, Mudryk provided a positive 'A' sample believed to contain meldonium, a banned performance-enhancing substance. Under FA regulations, this violation could result in a suspension of up to four years.

The 24-year-old joined Chelsea in January 2023 for a reported fee of £88.5 million from Shakhtar Donetsk but has struggled to make a significant impact at Stamford Bridge.

This development comes at a challenging time for Chelsea, who are currently restructuring their squad under manager Enzo Maresca ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season.

BenriNews will provide further updates on this case as more information becomes available.
