FC Robo, the Lagos-based women's football club, has officially announced Monday, June 30, 2025, as their resumption date ahead of the 2025-26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season.

The announcement was made through an official statement signed by the club's head coach, Emmanuel Osahon, on Tuesday.

"The wait is over! Lagos Landladies is thrilled to announce their official resumption date, which is Monday, 30th June 2025, as we gear up for the highly anticipated 2025/2026 Nigeria Women League season," Osahon stated in the release.

Renewed Ambition for the New Season

Coach Osahon expressed confidence in the team's preparation for the upcoming season, emphasizing their determination to make a significant impact in the league.

"Our talented squad is ready to put in the hard work, sweat, and dedication required to dominate the pitch and bring glory to our beloved club," he said.

"With a fresh perspective, new strategies, and a renewed sense of purpose, we're confident that our Queens will make their mark on the league."

The announcement comes after FC Robo missed out on a place in the NWFL Super Six playoff last season, a disappointment the team is clearly looking to address with their early preparations for the new campaign.

The 2025-26 NWFL season promises to be competitive, with defending champions Bayelsa Queens looking to retain their title after being crowned champions for the sixth time in the previous season.

As reported by BenriNews, the upcoming season will feature a prize money of ₦24.5 million for the premiership super 6, a development aimed at boosting female football in Nigeria.

FC Robo's early resumption signals their intent to challenge for honors in what promises to be an exciting season of women's football in Nigeria.
