Turkish giants Galatasaray are preparing to approach Newcastle United for striker Alexander Isak if they fail to secure Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal, according to sports presenter Volkan Kılıç.
Kılıç revealed on Monday that while landing the Swedish international would be challenging, Galatasaray are willing to explore the possibility should their primary target remain elusive.
"Galatasaray will contact Newcastle United's star player Alexander Isak if the Victor Osimhen transfer is unsuccessful," Kılıç stated. "Although the possibility of a transfer seems very difficult, Galatasaray plans to push this possibility."
Isak has been in exceptional form, netting 27 goals and providing 6 assists in 42 appearances for Newcastle last season. The 25-year-old remains under contract with the Premier League club until June 2028, making any potential transfer complicated.
Osimhen's Future Remains Uncertain
Nigerian international Osimhen enjoyed a successful loan spell at Galatasaray but has yet to make a decision regarding his future. The Napoli striker has reportedly received multiple offers, including one that could make him the highest-paid African footballer.
Reports suggest Osimhen is currently in talks with several clubs, including Real Madrid and Chelsea, as he weighs his options. The striker has also reportedly set specific conditions for Galatasaray if they wish to secure his services permanently.
For Galatasaray, securing either Isak or Osimhen would represent a significant statement of intent as they look to strengthen their squad for domestic and European competitions.
