Atalanta has placed a hefty €50 million price tag on Nigerian international Ademola Lookman amid growing interest from Serie A champions Napoli this summer transfer window.
Napoli, under the management of Antonio Conte, has identified Lookman as the ideal replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who departed for Paris Saint-Germain in January. However, according to Football Italia, the Naples club is reluctant to meet Atalanta's substantial valuation of the 27-year-old winger.
Sources close to the negotiations suggest Napoli might propose a player-plus-cash deal to secure Lookman's services, as they consider the €50 million asking price excessive.
Impressive Season Performance
Lookman enjoyed a stellar 2024/25 campaign with Atalanta, netting 20 goals and providing seven assists across 40 appearances in all competitions. His exceptional form has attracted attention from several top European clubs, with Napoli being the latest to join the race for his signature.
The Super Eagles star has established himself as one of the most dynamic attacking talents in Serie A since joining Atalanta, showcasing his ability to both score and create goals consistently.
While Atalanta appears open to negotiating a transfer, they remain firm on their valuation, recognizing Lookman's importance to their squad and his rising market value.
As the summer transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether Napoli will increase their offer or if other clubs will enter the bidding war for the Nigerian international.
