British journalist Pete O'Rourke has provided a fresh update on Napoli striker Victor Osimhen's potential transfer to Liverpool, revealing the Nigerian international remains on the radar of several European clubs.
According to O'Rourke, Liverpool's interest in the 26-year-old Super Eagles forward has intensified, particularly as Darwin Nunez appears increasingly likely to depart Anfield this summer.
"Victor Osimhen is going into his final year at Napoli," O'Rourke stated on a podcast. "Galatasaray would love to sign him on a permanent basis if possible and Napoli would prefer to cash in rather than let him run down his contract."
The respected journalist further revealed that while Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal made numerous offers for Osimhen, the striker himself appears to prefer remaining in European football.
"Liverpool have been linked with Osimhen as a potential target, especially if Darwin Nunez was to leave this summer which seems more and more likely," O'Rourke added.
This development comes after Osimhen's proposed move to Al-Hilal fell through earlier in the transfer window, leaving the Premier League champions as a potential destination for the Nigerian striker.
The situation continues to evolve as Napoli appears eager to sell Osimhen rather than risk losing him on a free transfer when his contract expires next year.
