The Nigeria Police Force has announced an extension of the grace period for the enforcement of tinted glass permit requirements until August 12, 2025. This decision follows public concerns regarding the reactivation of the digital application process.

Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this development in an official statement released on Saturday. According to the police, the extension is in direct response to feedback received from citizens and aims to ensure that the ongoing review of the permit process results in a more accessible and user-friendly system.

"The extension of enforcement is intended to give room for additional enhancements and refinements to the application process, ensuring that no member of the public is unduly disadvantaged," the statement explained.

Improvements to Application Process

The Force further revealed that efforts are currently underway to simplify both physical and digital application methods. These improvements include enhanced verification mechanisms and measures to reduce processing delays, all aimed at creating a more efficient system for citizens.

Members of the public have been urged to utilize the official application and renewal portal at www.possap.gov.ng for all tinted glass permit processes. Additionally, citizens are encouraged to report any instances of extortion or unauthorized charges to police authorities through the dedicated hotline: 09169967000.

This extension provides vehicle owners with additional time to comply with regulations while the police work to address concerns about the application process.
