Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes has thrown his weight behind the club's reported interest in signing Real Madrid forward Rodrygo during the summer transfer window.

Speaking on the Podpah Podcast, Gabriel was asked about the possibility of his Brazilian international teammate joining him at the Emirates Stadium, to which he responded enthusiastically.

"I don't. No, I don't, not really," Gabriel initially replied when questioned if he had inside information about the potential transfer. "But I would like obviously. Rodrygo is a phenomenon, for me. He isn't at Arsenal... If it depended on me, I have told people already, he is a phenomenon."

Brazilian Connection at Arsenal

Gabriel's endorsement comes amid growing speculation linking Rodrygo with a move to North London. The defender's comments highlight the high regard in which he holds his compatriot, who has established himself as a key player at Real Madrid since joining from Santos.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen to strengthen his attacking options as the club continues to build on their recent Premier League title challenges, with Rodrygo emerging as a prime target.

Despite the transfer rumors, Rodrygo remains an integral part of Real Madrid's plans, having been included in their squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

The potential acquisition would add to Arsenal's growing Brazilian contingent, which already includes Gabriel, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Jesus, potentially creating a formidable South American influence at the club.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Arsenal fans will be watching closely to see if the club can secure the services of a player Gabriel describes as a "phenomenon."
