Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has dropped fresh hints about his future with the Premier League club, suggesting he would prefer to remain at the Emirates Stadium despite his contract nearing its end.

The Ghanaian international, whose current deal expires in the coming weeks, emphasized that while he wishes to stay, the final decision rests with his agent and Arsenal's management.

"I think the first thing is where are you happy? Where do you feel at home? And then what is your next objective and what do you want to achieve next?" Partey was quoted saying in a recent interview.

"There are a lot of things. You have to look now where your family will be happy. When you are young, you can just go anywhere," he added, suggesting family considerations now play a significant role in his career decisions.

The midfielder clarified his position on the ongoing negotiations: "I can't decide anything, it's up to my agent and the club. Me, I just want to enjoy football."

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has previously expressed his desire to extend Partey's stay at the club, with discussions reportedly ongoing over a new contract.

Arsenal's Midfield Plans

Meanwhile, Arsenal appears to be exploring options to strengthen their midfield regardless of Partey's decision. The North London club is reportedly keen on signing Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi as a potential replacement for Jorginho, who departed this summer.

Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 and has been a key figure in Arteta's squad when fit, though injuries have limited his appearances during various periods of his Arsenal career.

The 31-year-old's experience and versatility have proven valuable to the Gunners' midfield setup, particularly as they've established themselves as Premier League title contenders over the past two seasons.

As the transfer window approaches, Arsenal fans will be watching closely to see whether the club secures Partey's services for the future or looks to reinvest in new midfield talent.
